After finding his love and passion for the game his senior year of high school, Coach Tim continued his career at Santa Monica College making it to the state finals. He then transferred to Antelope Valley College where he helped start up a brand new college volleyball program playing outside hitter and assisting in running and coaching the program. This lead to a scholarship to go play at Ottawa University in KS.
Tim is currently playing in the Volleyball League of America (VLA), along with coaching women’s volleyball at San Tan Charter High School.
Tim has coached both boys and girls volleyball of all ages from 12U to the collegiate level.
His goal is to pass on his love and passion for the game.
As volleyball becomes life and is a year-round commitment, it’s important to understand that things outside of volleyball are much more important, such as family, friends and personal/mental health. With this sport I want to show them you can have both. Create a family, make new friends, and grow strong physically and mentally. If we can understand these aspects in the gym it becomes easy to balance it all together.
“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do” Kobe Bryant

Coach Sam has over 20 years of playing experience and has been coaching all levels of volleyball for the last 12 years. She recently became a mom and graduated with a Master's in I/O Psychology. In 2018, she moved to Arizona and claims it's been one of the best decisions she's made.
Currently, she plays in local beach tournaments and is a practice player for the VLA Las Muertas team. In high school, she was a starting setter, oppo, outside and even had a moment to shine as a middle. In the 2023 season, she had a scholarship and played beach volleyball for Park University. Coach Sam currently coaches JV for indoor, assists with Varsity indoor, and is the head coach for the girl's beach program at San Tan Charter.
The improvement that happens during a season and seeing a player's face light up when they realize they are more capable than they think are two of her favorite aspects of coaching. Her coaching philosophy is based on Progress Over Perfection. Volleyball is not a perfect sport which means progressing developmentally is the most important aspect. Keep moving forward because nothing in the past can be changed.

He was a 5-year starter at middle blocker for a top 5 NAIA men’s program, Ottawa University Arizona (OUAZ). He also helped start Team IX in the VLA while playing at OUAZ, which led to an early medical retirement. During his time at Ottawa, he spent four years as a boys varsity assistant coach at Mountain Pointe High School and boys club coach at Hanai. He is now the girls Freshman coach at San Tan Charter. During the off season in college, he traveled all over the United States and Europe playing volleyball to grow in both the sport and as a person.
Due to the early end of his career, Coach Blake wants to give back to the sport that has given him so many blessings. He believes this sport is able to teach young athletes valuable lessons beyond the court. Seeing the growth and development of his players, not only in their skills but as people, is what coaching is all about.

She understands sports are a valuable tool to learn lessons that are applicable to the outside world and always strives to connect those dots for her players. Her favorite part of coaching is seeing a new skill put into play after working at it or seeing kids have a “light bulb” moment.
